During the summer of 2016, I spent 10 weeks as a design intern at New Balance in St. Louis. While learning the ins-and outs of office life for the first time, I worked with a team of creatives, project managers, developers, photographers, and analytics experts.
I designed advertisements, on site creative banners, and emails. For each set of deliverables, I developed a look and feel for the specific product being sold. I referenced branding guidelines, researched target consumers, and learned how to create advertisements to increase profit and clickthrough rates. Additionally, I worked with the other interns to create a UI/UX update to the site's wish list.
The intern experience at New Balance opened my eyes to the world of e-commerce. I gained essentials skills for working in a collaborative process at a large company. Upon returning to school in the fall of 2017, I was more excited than ever to become a full time designer.
